Welcome to the GBCT.

The GBCT is now closed.

The GBCT was created in memory of George Bairstow, who lived his life to help and support others but was tragically killed in a car accident in the early hours of 6 November 2013, on his return from a volunteer shift with St John Ambulance.

We have been overwhelmed by the continued support of the GBCT since we announced our intention to close the Trust and award legacy grants to a number of long-term projects through Criminon, Bolton Lads & Girls Club, Great Western Air Ambulance, Rise 61 and St John Ambulance. We are currently adding to our support of a number of the projects as we distribute our remaining funds, furthering George’s legacy for many more years through first aid, skills and volunteering. Further details will be shared soon in our final newsletter, in the meantime we are announcing that the Trust is no longer accepting new donations as we close down the GBCT’s activities – thank you for all of your support.
